This temple is considered one of the most beautiful Shiva temples in the country. Beautiful idols of Lord Shiva and Lord Ganapati are a major attraction for all devotees who come to the temple. The temple is famous for its maintenance and regular festivals for devotees, which is organized for them to participate in the worship of Lord Shiva, which is considered to be one of the chief deities of South India.
The 65 feet high statue of Lord Shiva is painted with white marble, and the symbol of Lord Shiva's natural habitat is placed in an artificial trunk of water, this place is a beautiful pilgrim center for all devotees of Lord Shiva. Lord Ganapati is worshiped in the premises of the temple and priests are worshiped with regular aarti and mantras.
This temple is a major reason, which is very different from other Shiva temples across the country. The makers of the temple, in their natural habitat, surrounded by about 65 feet long, small rocks and dunes, depicting the Himalayas and Mount Kailasa, tried to build a huge monastery in Lord Shiva. To mimic the rivers of Mount Kailasa, a statue in a large artificial pool of water sits. The entrance to the temple is a symbol of Shiv Ling, which is 25 feet high in the sacred form of the deity. A Navagraha temple is also present inside the premises, in which nine planets are shown, which are away from the solar system and their journey is over time.
Rituals in the temple
Many devotees and rituals are performed with special hymns, aarti, milk and flowers and havan for devotees in the temple, there are some rituals which are performed at regular intervals. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a huge festival is celebrated to worship the devotees and worship in the temple. Many other rituals such as a burning lamp, or thread threading and asking God to solve their problems are also done by devotees coming to the temple.
